Vim & Vigor

When I talk about moving and looking forward to living near friends, people ask how we met. When I say online, 95% of the time, it is immediately followed by a smirk on the face of the person who asked. I get that. I do. I was once one of the side-smirkers. When a high-school friend married a girl he met online through a game, I wasn’t so sure about it yet here they are, married longer than we have been and as happy as ever.
When I started using Twitter, it was purely for business. I wanted to make more sales and get my links out there, but I was awkward and didn’t know what to say without sounding like a spam-bot. Yet, I found something so much more. What I found was a rich community of real people. The more time I spent, the more connections I made. One day, I was blessed to meet a fantastic woman named Kristi Fornshell Crawford.
She always commented on my photos of BabyBee and LO and when I mentioned our impending move, she said Ohio was a fine place to raise a family. We shared the same favorite drink at Sonic – the Lemonberry slush. Her quick wit was always a pleasant surprise and you never knew what you might find when you clicked a link she posted to her photos. It ranged from the serene beauty of nature:
OLD ABANDONED STUFF on Twitpic

to the profane and hilarious:

Ass Clown

The captions really make it:

As you see your identities can remain hidden.

She was always full of encouragement. Her vivacious spirit is what sticks with me. I can only pray that I have that kind of vigor at her age. I wish I had it now!
And here my eyes fill with tears once again at the sharp pain I feel because of my loss, our loss, of a beautiful woman, a wonderful friend. Scrolling through my Twitter feed, I think I see her avatar, only to catch my breath and realize I’ll never see her here again.

Free of pain and suffering now in His hands, I am sure Heaven is all the brighter for having your beautiful soul. I miss you, Kristi.
